Simulated volcanic eruptions to block sun

The Telegraph - [28.01.2010]

A global plan to put man-made particles into the atmosphere to deflect the Sun's heat would rapidly lower global temperatures until cuts in carbon dioxide emissions took effect, they argued. They acknowledged concerns about geoengineering but said multi-national experiments should begin soon before it is too late to reverse climate change or in case a rogue state carried out separate measures.

Can Geoengineering Help Slow Global Warming?

Time - [18.08.2009]

As we pump billions of tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, we're doing more than warming the planet and scrambling the climate. We're also conducting what climatologist James Hansen has called a "vast uncontrolled experiment." In effect, we're on our way to engineering a world very different from the one we were handed. Belatedly, we're trying to turn off the carbon spigot, hoping that by incrementally reducing the emissions we've spent a couple of centuries pouring into the air we can stop the climate slide before it's too late.

Obama looking at cooling air to fight warming

AP - [08.04.2009]

Tinkering with Earth's climate to chill runaway global warming _ a radical idea once dismissed out of hand _ is being discussed by the White House as a potential emergency option, the president's new science adviser said Wednesday.

Pressing the Case for Geoengineering

The New York Times - [22.06.2009]

David G. Victor got a spirited reaction to his article about geoengineering in Foreign Affairs a few months ago. “I fielded a lot of hate mail,” he said. Mr. Victor, the director of Stanford University’s Energy and Sustainable Development Program, is a leading voice in the effort to get governments and policymakers to start thinking seriously about the possibility of technological tinkering with the atmosphere, as a weapon of last resort in the battle against global warming.

A cool, yellow sky

Deccan Chronicle - [12.07.2009]

We have all grown up seeing blue skies. But if global warming turns worse, further shooting up temperatures, we may have to get used to the idea of yellow skies to keep the earth cool. Australian scientist Tim Flannery suggests that earth’s temperatures will come down if we inject sulphur into the air. This will make the sky yellow, which may not be very pleasing to the eye, but it will halt climate change. Sulphur, when injected in its gaseous form into the earth’s stratosphere, will prevent harmful sun rays from reaching and affecting us, thereby slowing down global warming. Mr Flannery is confident that sulphur skies will become a reality in the next five years. The process is quite simple. Add sulphur to the fuel of jet engines or aeroplanes. Since the exhaust will contain sulphur, it will settle in the stratosphere, blocking sunlight. Sulphur emissions through automobiles are harmful for human and animal health.

The Government Is Already “Geo-Engineering” The Environment

infowars.com - [08.04.2009]

The Associated Press reports that Obama administration is considering radical terra forming programs to stop “global warming,” but universities and government agencies are already doing it, while mass aerosol spraying campaigns have been ongoing for over a decade through the use of chemtrails

Climate plan could change sky colour

news.com.au - [19.05.2008]

SCIENTIST Tim Flannery has proposed a radical solution to climate change which may change the colour of the sky. But he says it may be necessary, as the "last barrier to climate collapse." Professor Flannery says climate change is happening so quickly that mankind may need to pump sulphur into the atmosphere to survive.
